Unscene an AGDA finalist
We are excited to announce that our work for Unscene has been nominated in the categories of Motion and Sound Design at the AGDA Design Awards 2018.
Led by Village Cinemas, Unscene is a short film competition that gives emerging Australian filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their talent on the big screen.
Our creative concept was based upon film’s power to evoke emotion, but also its capability to enlighten and educate. This duality was represented through projecting the model’s face back onto itself - an intriguing visual that was then paired with a striking custom soundscape to appeal to film makers while demanding the attention of all who saw it. For more information, check out our case study.
David Buttigieg, our Creative Director, said, "the objective here was to inspire young filmmakers to create something special. Our strategy to use a low-fi technique to produce a beautiful and arresting piece inspired emerging filmmakers to do the same on a shoestring budget. By leading by example we showed that you don’t need Hollywood budgets to produce a great film that evokes emotion."
The 2018 AGDA Design Award winners will be announced on Saturday 10 November. To view all AGDA Design Awards 2018 finalists here, or head over to unscenefilms.com.au to see what all the fuss is about.
